Council has had to make the difficult decision based on the current information available from the Province and Public Health orders; due to COVID-19 the Grenfell swimming pool will not be operational for the 2020 season, which means that we will not be offering swimming lessons this year. The Town will continue to monitor the Province’s Plan for reopening and will consider the potential for limited operations later in the season, if it is feasible with staff and other regulations.
The health and safety of the community is top priority. As Council, staff, and community members we enjoy planning, providing, and participating in the many services and programs for our residents and surrounding community members and these decisions do not come lightly. We thank you for your understanding in this challenging time and remind you to follow the Provincial Health orders.
Grenfell has a new large outdoor heated pool with a 9 ft deep end and a diving board. There is also a zero beach entry, meaning the water starts at 0″ and gradually gets deeper.
The pool offers Red Cross swimming lessons by trained instructors as well as daily fitness swim classes throughout the summer. For more information or to book a campsite for your stay during swimming lessons call (306) 697-2815.
